We support a number of hunger- and emergency-related services:
Read about the Food Pantry on our Food Pantry page.
RMA also gives out limited financial assistance to those in need. Applications for Financial Assistance are taken only on Mondays during the Food Pantry hours. You must come in person with ID and the bill. For questions, please call on Mondays, 354-1750.
Warm Thoughts: Help with Gas Bills
Applications for “Warm Thoughts” to receive help specifically on your gas bill are taken on Thursdays during the Food Pantry hours. You must come in person with ID, proof of income, and the bill.
Food for Kids
The RMA supports the Second Harvest "Food for Kids" program, which sends each of Rockwood's most at-need children home with a backpack full of food to help make sure they are eating over the weekend.
The Love Kitchen
We also help support the ministry of the "Love Kitchen," a meal that is offered at 5 PM on the second and last Saturday of every month in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Rockwood. There is no charge for the meal, but donations are appreciated. For more information, please contact the church at (865) 354-1674.
Christmas Food Baskets
RMA also gives out Christmas baskets in December. Each year we give out approximately 300 Christmas baskets filled with food.
Community of Support
Besides food and financial help, the RMA is an ecumenical voice in the community. We work to create a community of support and oneness amongst the churches by coordinating many community services throughout the year.
We have an annual baccalaureate service for graduates of Rockwood High School.
Summer Community Praise and Sing
Holy Week Luncheons
During the week leading up to Easter, the churches come together for a meal each day and share in a brief worship service.
